Full Acquisition Message from Kraig Brown, CEO of Office Practicum:
We are excited to announce that OP is developing the market’s first whole child digital platform.
Last year especially, but for many years now, we’ve seen that the needs of pediatric patients are no longer fully physical. This winter, prompted by spikes in pediatric mental health emergencies and suicide attempts, the AAP declared the pediatric mental health crisis a “national emergency.” While some of our practices have begun to integrate behavioral health specialists, others are referring their patients out to trusted providers at unprecedented rates. To meet this growing demand for pediatric behavioral healthcare, we plan to integrate new workflows and services that address behavioral health-specific workflows, screeners, and referral processes. We want to ensure we’re supporting you in every way so that you can continue to provide unparalleled and seamless care to your patients for all their pediatric needs.
In 2019, OP acquired NextStep Solutions, a first-of-its-kind, fully-specialized behavioral health EHR. This month OP acquired RemedyConnect, a digital healthcare delivery company that offers ways for providers to attract new patients and expand access to care. Their portfolio of offerings includes a telehealth solution, an after-hours answering service, and marketing services. With the acquisitions, OP will be able to leverage technologies from both companies to develop new pediatric and behavioral health solutions that focus on the next frontier in Pediatrics – the whole child.
As our vision grows, so too does our team. Dan Feiten, M.D., FAAP, CEO of RemedyConnect, will be joining OP in a new role as Medical Director & Product Leader of Clinical Innovation. As a widely respected pediatric physician, Dr. Feiten will apply his clinical and technical expertise alongside contributions to the specialty practice community and industry-leading organizations, most notably AAP and the American Telemedicine Association. He will spearhead product innovations, develop whole child pediatric initiatives, and oversee the direction of the active OP Physician Advisory Council. This group of pediatricians and practice managers provides quarterly product feedback and development direction based on real-time insights sourced from their daily practice management experience.
To support our whole child initiative, the newly expansive OP team includes an extraordinary array of pediatric experts with a combined 150 years of clinical experience. Along with the team of OP experts, their rich perspectives, clinical expertise, and focus on improving care will continue to drive innovation and support for the diverse and growing OP community.
What this announcement means for your practice
OP will continue to support your practice in providing outstanding physical care to your patients. We’ll still be making enhancements to our current products while also developing solutions to help you with your patients’ emotional and behavioral needs. We are expanding our strategic focus so that our practices can expand theirs.
As we work to develop the most robust whole child healthcare technology platform, we will continue to support the needs of pediatric and adult behavioral health clients with NextStep Solutions EHR and revenue cycle management solutions. With our newest acquisition of RemedyConnect, we can assure you that the needs of their pediatric practices will continue to be met with their full line of products and services.
