We are currently updating the OP Help Center content for the release of OP 14.19 or OP 19. OP 19 is a member of the certified OP 14 family of products (official version is 14.19.1), which you may see in your software (such as in Help > About) and in the Help Center tabs labeled 14.19. You may also notice that the version number in content and videos may not match the version of your software, and some procedural content may not match the workflow in your software. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these enhancements.

Adding a Miscellaneous Note

Patient Register: Miscellaneous Notes

Field
Description

If a patient needs a specific type of Well Visit (like a well visit for medical issues), you can select Extended Well Visit from the Default Well Visit Type dropdown as long as that type of appointment is added in the Appointment Types and Zones window (see Appointment Types).

If an appointment type is associated with a visit template selected for the appointment reason, then a prompt will appear indicating that you should pick the patient's default reason or the text that is associated with the populated appointment reason.

If the appointment type is blank with a visit template selected for the appointment reason, OP will automatically pick the patient's documented default appointment reason from this screen.

If the appointment reason selected is not associated with a template, the patient's default appointment types will be highlighted for the user to select.

If a patient needs a specific type of Encounter Visit (like an extended Sick Visit) due to medical issues, an office may select Extended Sick Visit from the Default Sick Visit Type dropdown as long as that type of appointment is added in the Appointment Types and Zones window (see Appointment Types).

If the appointment reason selected is not associated with a template, the patient's default appointment types will be highlighted for a user to select.

If a patient requires a specific type of note on their account (for example, if a patient is chronically late or missing scheduled appointments), the Miscellaneous Notes field may be used for this scenario. However, be mindful of the language used in notes for patients. The system has an extensive audit trail to notes, even after they are deleted from the account.

If a patient requires a specific type of note on their account (for example, if the patient needs to contact their insurance for billing purposes like Coordination of Benefits [COB]), the Billing Notes field may be used for this scenario. However, be mindful of the language used in notes for patients. The system has an extensive audit trail to notes, even after they are deleted out of an account.

Since Office Practicum is a pediatric-based software, the defaults set for information on a claim for Employment and Marital Status are done for you. Please edit the information as necessary for specific patients.

If the office keeps track of who refers a patient to their practice, use this field to input that reference. You can manually input the reference or use the address book. Select the Add  button to open the Address Book. A user may select the reference from the address book, if that reference was already added in the address book. If the incorrect reference was added, click on to Reset buttonto clear the selection.
