How do I get appointments to show on tracking screen?

This page will instruct you on how to make an appointment on the schedule.


If you are making an appointment for a new patient who has not been registered, you must register the patient first before an appointment can be made. Follow the steps in Registering a New Patient to complete that task.

Making an Appointment

  1. Access the Calendar Schedule by following one of the paths above.
  2. Double-click on the time Slot to add an appointment. The Add/Edit Appointment window appears.

  1. Find the patient using the Search box  .
  2. Click the dropdown arrow in Appt Reason: and select from the list.
  3. Click the dropdown arrow in Appt type: and select from the list.
  4. Click the Save button at the bottom of the Add/Edit Appointment window.
  • The selections that appear in the Appt reason list are based upon your visibility level and the template visibility level. Well Visit templates are available to view by all users.
  • The Appt type: may populate if the selected template contains a default. The appointment type must be selected for the visit to appear on the Tracking window.

Making an Appointment

  1. Click on a time Slot. 

  1. Double-click on the time Slot to add an appointment. 


  1. Find the patient using the Search box  .
  2. Enter the Appointment Reason: The patient's chief complaint.  This list is populated based on the Template Name of all Symptom Templates and Well Visit Templates that are available in OP. 
  3. Enter the Appointment Type: What type of visit is this (sick, well, recheck, etc)? The appointment type must be selected in order for the patient to appear on the tracking screen.
  4. Click the Save button at the bottom of the Add/ Edit appointment screen.
