AR Console - Accounts Receivable

The AR dashboard allows the user to gather an array of A/R information and to customize the type and display of that information. This includes total A/R data, information regarding insurance and patient, Aging by Plan (as a percentage), Collection Percentage, and Days Outstanding. OP users can create an AR dashboard and then drill down to isolate details by provider, location or plan. From the Practice Health Dashboards home page, click on the A/R Piggy Bank icon to enter the A/R dashboard.

A/R Dashboard

The A/R Dashboard home page provides the following five sets of A/R data:

Total A/R

  • A/R Aging By Plan Percent
  • Current Collection Percentage
  • % Over 90 Days
  • Days Outstanding

Total A/R

The Total A/R chart is closely associated with the Total A/R by Insurance and Patient charts. Note the color code changing from Green to Red to indicate the increase of Days Outstanding and the decrease of Collection Percentage.

Hovering the pointer over select areas of the Total A/R charts displays a popup window with detailed Total A/R, Insurance A/R and Patient A/R information. When the mouse pointer changes to the Hand pointer, you can click on that area to open a drill-down tab with even greater A/R detail.

A/R Aging by Plan

In the A/R Aging By Plan Percent chart, hovering the pointer over the bar associated with each payer displays a popup window with detailed information regarding the percentage of aging A/R data for each insurance plan.

Current Collection Percentage

The Current Collection Percentage is calculated based upon a three-month rolling average. The color coding indicates where an average practice should be based on standard benchmarks.

The Total Gross collection percentage is all revenue billed.

The Total Net Collection percentage includes adjustments. This percentage represents the performance of your billers. The Total Net Collection is the actual amount of money a practice should receive after all adjustments. This figure should be as close to 100% as possible.

Percent Over 90 Days

The Percent Over 90 Days chart provides a dial-type graphic that clearly depicts the percentage of A/R receivables that have exceeded 90 days.

Days Outstanding

The Days Outstanding chart displays a measure of the average number of days it takes to collect A/R. This figure is based upon a three-month rolling average.
