We are currently updating the OP Help Center content for the release of OP 14.19 or OP 19. OP 19 is a member of the certified OP 14 family of products (official version is 14.19.1), which you may see in your software (such as in Help > About) and in the Help Center tabs labeled 14.19. You may also notice that the version number in content and videos may not match the version of your software, and some procedural content may not match the workflow in your software. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these enhancements.

Change Request Generic Substitution

Version 20.0

Overview

Change requests are sent to the practice from the pharmacy. In this article we will discuss a change request for a generic substitution. For instruction on enabling Change Request in OP, click here.

Accept A Generic Substitution Change Request

  1. Navigate to the Refill/Change Requests tab: Main Navigation Panel > e-Prescribe > Refill/Change Requests tab.
  2. Double-click on the medication request for a Generic Substitution or highlight the medication and click the Accept/Deny button.

  1. If the patient has medication allergies a Warning box will display, click the OK button.
  2. The eRx Change Summary window opens. Review the pharmacy changes in the As Dispensed Change Request panel.
  3. Click the Accept button.

With any Surescripts message either inbound or outbound there is an opportunity for an error in the actual transmission of the message. Messages that “Error” are no longer valid and therefore the Pharmacy may need to be called or a new prescription written.
