About Manage Documents (Image Acquisition)

Path: Clinical tab > Document Management button > New Document button

Note:  The following functions are not available while in image acquisition mode: Patient Finder, Document search, Print, and Export.

The Manage Documents (Image Acquisition) window contains the functions to input images and view scanned records.  The Manage Documents Image Acquisition window can do the following:

  • Set up image tools
  • Scan an existing record
  • Scan insurance cards
  • Reviewing scans
  • Change or delete a scanned item
  • Scan a consent form
  • Capture and scan photo IDs
  • Importing files

Acquisition Panel
The Acquisition Panel contains the following tools that are used to insert a new record into OP:
  • Page Scanner -  Insert a record using your scanner.
  • Card Scanner  - Insert card information using your card reader.
  • Import Image Files - Import a image that is not in your OP database.
  • Fax - Insert a fax (sent or received) into the patient record.
  • Camera - Insert an image acquired by your camera.
  • Import Documents Dropdown  - Import PDF, CDA, or Dicom that is not already in the OP database.

Image smart toolbar
The image smart toolbar contains many image management functions including cutting, copying, pasting, deleting (one or all images from the sketch folder), refreshing sketch folder, rotating, setting the number of thumbnail columns, and setting up your twain devices (see the Setup TWAIN Devices window).

Sketch Panel
The Sketch Panel holds inputted documents until they are moved to a patient's chart.

Show/Hide Thumbnails button
The Show/Hide Thumbnails button toggles between displaying and hiding the thumbnail panel.

Thumbnail Panel
The Thumbnail panel displays thumbnails of each document selected in the Document List panel.

Preview Panel
The Preview Panel displays a preview of the contents for a selected document in the Sketch or Thumbnails panel.

The Show/Hide Document Details Panel button toggles between displaying and hiding the Document Details Panel.

Document Details Panel
 The Document Details panel displays the file-level details for the selected document.

Editing Tools
The Editing toolbar alters the image in the preview panel.  Images can be resized, rotated, converted, zoomed, cropped, highlighted, annotated, alter free-hand, and signed.

Save/Cancel buttons
The Save and Cancel buttons are the function buttons used to save an image to a patient's record (Save button) or cancel the image from being inserted into a patient's record (Cancel button).
