To enter a refund, the amount to be refunded must first exist as a credit in the patient's account.
- Click on the Patient Account button .
- Click on the Credit tab .
- Click on the Refund button.
- The Patient Credit Account window will open, select the following:
- Date: Defaults to today's date of service, change if needed.
- Refund Method: Select what type of payment method the refund will be.
- Refund from Patient Credit: The amount to be refunded to the patient.
- Note: Enter the check number and details/explanation for the refund, if appropriate.
- Click the Save/Post button at the bottom to save changes and exit.
