We are currently updating the OP Help Center content for the release of OP 14.19 or "OP 19". Medication Add and Review

Version 14.19

Overview

This section will introduce the users to adding or reviewing medications in a Well Visit note. The user will be guided through the fields to easily review and document additional information.

Reviewing Medications

To Review Medications:

  1. Open the Patient Chart in the Clinical, Practice Management, or Billing tab.
  2. Click Well Visit note. Open a note in the patient's chart.
  3. Click the Medications button. The patient's medication history appears.
  4. Review/Compare the Medications that the patient is taking against the list in OP.

Note: To view medications that are current, click the Current meds only checkbox. These are medications with a Y under the Chronic column and medications that have not reached the prescription end date.

  1. To mark a medication as reviewed, click the paper clip  located in the column to the left of the medication.

Note: Clicking the Mark Reviewed button adds a general statement that medications were reviewed for the patient.



Adding a Medication to the List for Future Reference

Note:  If the patient is currently taking or has taken medication not on the list, simply add it as a reference medication.
  1. Click on the New button´╗┐ to open the Prescription Writer window.
  2. Click the Purpose dropdown and select Med - reference only.

  1. Type in the first couple of letters of the name of the medication into the Drug field.
  2. Click on the ´╗┐Elipsis button or simply press Enter on your keyboard. The Medication Finder window displays. 

  1. Select the medication by double-clicking on the line or clicking OK at the bottom of the Medication Finder window.

Note: If the medication did not appear on the list, select the Master List tab to choose from the SureScripts master list.

  1. Check or write the dosage information into the "Sig" fields.
  2. Click into the Rx start date field, the date will default to the current date. Enter the date the medication was last prescribe, if unknown, delete the date
  3. If this is an ongoing medication, select the Include in chronic medication list checkbox.
  4. Click the Save button.

Overview

This section will introduce the users to the section of the Preventive Exam used to document or review medications. The user will be guided through the fields to easily review and document additional information.

  1. Click the Med Review button.

  1. To mark a medication as reviewed, click the paper clip  located in the column to the left of the medication.

  1. To add a new medication, click the plus icon .
  2. If medication allergies, Warning dialog box displays.

  1. Click OK button to continue.
  2. The Prescription Writer window displays.

  1. Click the Purpose dropdown and select Med - reference only.
  2. Type the medication in the Drug field and click the ellipse button.
  3. The Medication Finder window displays.

  1. Highlight the medication from the Matching Favorites tab or the Master List tab.
  2. Click the OK button.
  3. The Prescription Writer window displays.
  4. Complete the following fields:
  • Sig
  • Remove the dates from the Rx start date and Rx end date
  • Click the checkbox, include in chronic medication list. if medication is to be included as a chronic or ongoing medication.
  1. Click the Save button.
