Important Content Update Message
We are currently updating the OP Help Center content for the release of OP 20. OP 20 (official version 20.0.x) is the certified, 2015 Edition, version of the Office Practicum software. This is displayed in your software (Help tab > About) and in the Help Center tab labeled Version 20.0. We appreciate your patience as we continue to update all of our content.

Message Module Basics

Version 14.19

From the Main Navigation panel, click Phone, Portal, External, or Need Act in the Messages section to open the Message Center. The Notification to the right of each item corresponds to the number of unopened messages in the specified tab of the Message Center. Click any of these items to open the Associated tab of the Message Center.

Message Module Elements

Tabs
  • Unread Phone: New messages originating from phone calls.
  • Unread Portal: New messages originating from the Patient Portal. These messages can include demographic changes, appointment requests, referral requests or medication refill requests.
  • Unread External: New messages originating from external attachment files (PDF). 
  • Needs Action: Messages that have been marked Act Req.
  • Read: Messages marked as Read from the Unread Phone tab.
  • *Sent: All sent messages  (*Messages can be deleted by the original sender from the Sent tab).
Message ListView details of the highlighted message (1) in the lower portion (2).
New Message
Opens the New Message form.
ReplyOpens the message in Reply mode with the original sender now the recipient.
Reply AllOpens the message in Reply mode with all original recipients marked to receive the reply.
ForwardOpens the message in Reply mode without a recipient selected.
Includes the prior message text in the response.

Scope: Select another individual from the drop-down, or Everyone to view others' message (privilege required).

Dates: View prior messages by selecting an alternate date range.

Confidential: Check box to view Exempt From Reporting messages (privilege required).

Search Schedule: Click icon to open the Search for Appointments form.

From the Quick Button toolbar, click  The numbers under the telephone correspond to:
