Notifying Parents of a Message on Patient Portal

If you are using Office Practicum's Patient Portal you can send a parent a notification email that they have a message using the Patient Message eXchange.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Check to see if you you have messaging credits available.
  2. Create a template for patient portal message notifications.

  1. When setting up the template, set the sort order to 0.

  1. Preferred method of contact is selected for the patient portal under the F2 Register.

  1. In the Message Center, if a message is being sent to a parent, a notification from the Patient Message eXchange is automatically sent to the parent's email that is on file in the F2 Register.

Note:

  • An Authority must be selected in the contact's information under the F2 register. This field cannot be left blank. Although it is not a required field for the patient portal to work it must be selected in order to use the Patient Message eXchange.

  • It is a best practice to select Resides with when an applicable a message from the Patient Message eXchange will not be sent if there is an End Date selected.
  • Notification messages are not sent if there is an End Date.
