OP Insights: Patient Statements

Version 14.19

Overview

In this section you will learn about the Patient Statements area on the Billing Overview tab.

Billing Center: Overview

Why is this Important?

Outstanding patient balances will not get paid if statements are not sent in a time fashion. These metrics give you the ability to compare what has been queued or sent to the patient A/R outstanding during the respective time frame.

In Queue, Ready to Mail, Amount

  • What is this?
  • A count of the number of statements in the patient statement queue.
  • A sum of the statement balances in the patient statement queue.
  • Keeping it Healthy
  • This number should be zeroed daily by printing or electronically submitting a statement file to the insurance. (The chances that a statement will become outdated by insurance adjudication or patient payment increases the longer a statement is sitting in the statement queue.
  • For More Information
  • Double-click on the text. OP will take you to the Statement Queue and display the claims that have been queued but not sent.

Mailed this Month, Amount

  • What is this?
  • A count of the number of statements that have been mailed within the last 30 days.
  • A sum of the statement balances that have been mailed within the last 30 days.
  • Keeping it Healthy
  • These numbers should match with the patient A/R during the same period.
