About Patient Encounter: Graphic

Path: Clinical, Practice Management, or Billing tab > Patient Chart button > Encounter > New or Open Note button > Graphic

The Graphic window allows images that can be drawn on or annotated to be imported to an Encounter.

Graphic buttonThe Graphic button accesses the Graphic window in the patient's Encounter Note.

Encounter Function buttonsThe Function buttons delete an entire Encounter Note, edit an Encounter Note, or save an Encounter Note.

Flag as Incomplete checkboxThe Flag as Incomplete checkbox marks an Encounter as unfinished.

Items panelThe Items panel lists the documents that are selected from the Search for Documents window.  From this panel, images and documents can be selected to appear in the preview pane for viewing or editing. Selected images in this panel can be edited, deleted, and saved.

Choose buttonThe Choose button opens the Search for Documents window where the user can search for and select the document that will appear in the Items panel of the Patient Encounter: Graphic window.

Image Editing buttonsThe image editing buttons are used to highlight, add text and alter the image.
  • : Select the color to use on the image (highlighting, freehand draw an area of the image).
  • :  Raise or lower the numeric value to increase or decrease the thickness of a line.  It can also increase or decrease the font size of the text that is added to the image.
  • : Deselects an editing mode and returns the cursor to normal mode. Returning the cursor to normal mode does not alter the image if the mouse is clicked while hovering the cursor over the image.
  • : The Zoom box function is used to zoom the picture to the size of the drawn rectangle.
  • :  The Undo button will undo the most recent change to the image.
  • : The Annotation button adds text annotations to the image using color for the fill area.
  • : The Free Hand button free hand draws using colors and line widths.
  • : The Highlight button highlights an area of the image using the selected color.
  • : The Erase button is used to erase an area of the image using the selected color.

Finalize buttonsThe Finalize buttons are used to sign, apply changes, or cancel changes to an image.

Rotate buttonsThe Rotate buttons rotate the displayed image in the preview pane ninety (90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise).

Preview paneThe preview pane displays the selected document in the Items pane. The image can be drawn on or annotated.

Item Function buttonsThe Item Function buttons are used to delete, edit, save changes, or cancel changes to the selected document in the Items pane.

Document Navigation buttonsThe Document Navigation buttons are used to navigate to the first, previous, next, or last page of the document. The document can be zoomed in and out using the buttons as well.

About Patient Encounter: Graphic Tab

The Patient Encounter helps to code and complete an encounter visit.  The encounter note encompasses both narrative and comprehensive formats. It also allows you to customize the layout of the note.  The note is added to the patient chart.

The The Graphic tab allows images that can be drawn on or annotated to be imported to an encounter.

Encounter Note Editor tabs

The Patient Encounter Note Editor contains the following tabs:

Items panelThe Items panel lists the documents that are selected from the Search for Documents window.  From this panel, images and documents can be selected to appear in the preview pane for viewing or editing.  Selected images in this panel can be edited, deleted, and saved.

Choose buttonThe Choose button opens the Search for Documents window.  From the Search for Documents window, search for and select the document that will appear in the Items panel of the Patient Encounter: Graphic window.

Care Plans tabThe Care Plans tab lists, prints, and manages care plans for a patient’s health maintenance schedule.

Prior Notes tabThe Prior Notes tab lists the previous encounter notes and messages.

Templates tab

The Templates tab lists the templates that are created, edited, and reviewed in the Encounter Templates Editor. Templates are pre-written scenarios you can use in an encounter to document common pediatric diagnoses. Templates include detailed descriptions for the usual pertinent positive and negative findings of a wide variety of illnesses, with a standard assessment, plan and ICD-10 coding. Included with your installation of Office Practicum are Pediatric specific templates.
