About the Patient Chart: Clinical Contacts

Path: Clinical, Practice Management, or Billing tab > Patient Chart button > Clinical Contacts

Whether a new patient is entering your practice or your practice is transitioning from paper to electronic records, creating a patient's Demographic record is the first step in registering a patient into your database. The Patient Demographic record assigns each patient a unique patient ID number, and automatically creates a Patient Chart for the patient.

In the patient demographics section of the patient chart, you can:

  • Link Families
  • Confirm a new patient needs to be registered
  • Register a new patient
  • Print a patient’s demographics
  • Copy a sibling’s register record
  • Add relatives or contacts to a patient’s register record
  • Add miscellaneous notes
  • Add privacy restrictions
  • View and add consent forms
  • View and add to the patient’s coordination of care
  • Change the family address.

The Clinical Contacts window keeps track of the specialists, providers, pharmacies etc. that take part in the care of a mutual patient.

Clinical Contacts button

The Clinical Contacts button opens the Clinical contacts window in the patient's chart.

Clinical Contacts gridThe Clinical Contacts grid lists the specialists, providers, pharmacies etc. that take part in the care of a mutual patient.  The list displays the contact descriptor, contact name, contact phone number, and updated date.

AddThe Add button adds a contact to the Clinical Contacts grid.  Clicking the Add button opens the Address book.

DeleteThe Delete button deletes a selected contact from the Clinical Contacts grid.

About the Patient Register: Coordination of Care Tab

Path: Smart Toolbar > Register button > Coordination of Care tab

Whether a new patient is entering your practice or your practice is transitioning from paper to electronic records, creating a Patient Register record is the first step in registering a patient in your database. The Patient Register assigns each patient a unique patient ID number, and automatically creates a Patient Chart for the patient.

Using the patient register you can:

  • Link Families
  • Confirm a new patient needs to be registered
  • Register a new patient
  • Print a patient’s demographics
  • Copy a sibling’s register record
  • Add relatives or contacts to a patient’s register record
  • Add, edit, copy or validate insurance
  • Add miscellaneous notes

Function buttonsThe function buttons allow the user to print, create, delete, edit, save, and cancel the insurance information displayed or entered in the patient register.
