About Prescription Writer
Path: Clinical, Practice Management, or Billing tab > Patient Chart button > Medications > New or Edit button

The Prescription Writer creates prescriptions, links a pharmacy to the prescription, adds notes to prescriptions, adds a medication to the medication favorites list, and provides an outcome status note.

Number | Section | Description |
1 | Prescription tab | The Prescription tab creates the prescription. The prescription information includes fields for diagnoses, drug name, dosing information, days supply, refills, start and end dates, and indicators to dispense as written and to include in chronic medication listing. |
2 | Notes/Visibility tab | The Notes/Visibility tab is used to set visibility on the medication, and houses pharmacist and patient notes for the medication. Each note field features dynamic character counts. |
3 | Status tab | The Status tab indicates the prescription outcome, lists any warnings, sets any overrides, and displays the status of the prescription as well as the pharmacy information. |
4 | Links button | The Links button opens the Links window which is used to access websites and link PDF files. |
5 | Add to Favorites button | The Add to Favorites button opens the Medication Favorite Information window and adds the medication to the medication favorite list. |
