The Prescription Writer creates prescriptions, links a pharmacy to the prescription, adds notes to prescriptions, adds a medication to the medication favorites list, and provides an outcome status note.

Prescription tabThe Prescription tab creates the prescription.  The prescription information includes fields for drug name, prescriber, ICD-10 code, days supply, refills, D.A.W. (dispense as written), duration and indication of whether this is an ongoing medication.

Notes/Visibility tabThe Notes/Visibility tab enters pharmacist and patient notes to the prescription.  The visibly dropdown field determines who can view the prescription notes.

Status tabThe Status tab indicates the prescription outcome, lists any warnings, sets any overrides, and sets the pharmacy refill by information.

Information Access buttonThe Information Access button opens the Links window.  It is used to access websites and link PDF files.

Add to Favorites buttonThe Add to Favorites button opens the Medication Favorite Information window.  This button adds the medication to the medication favorite list.

Print buttonThe Print button saves the prescription changes and prints the prescription form.
