About Refuse/Defer Vaccine

The Refuse/Defer Vaccine window allows the user to enter the details of a vaccine refusal or deferral directly from the Patient Chart or during the charting of a visit.
Refuse/Defer Vaccine
Number | Section | Description |
1 | Refusal or Deferral | Refusal: This radio button is used to indicate a vaccine refusal. Deferral: This radio button is used to indicate a vaccine deferral. |
2 | Reason for Refusal or Deferral | Patient Decision: This radio button indicates the refusal or deferral of a vaccine was decided by the patient. Parental Decision: This radio button indicates the refusal or deferral of a vaccine was decided by the parent. Medical Reason: This radio button indicates the refusal or deferral of a vaccine is due to a patient's medical reason. |
3 | Contraindication | This field is available when the Deferral radio button is selected, the Medical Reason radio button is selected, and the Details field is populated with Vaccine safety concern, Vaccine efficacy concern, or Medical precaution. When these conditions are met, a Contraindication must be entered to save the record. |
4 | Details of Refusal or Deferral | The details of the refusal or deferral of a vaccine include Details, Vaccine, Date, Time, and Comments fields. |
5 | Create Consent Task | This checkbox is used to create a consent task for the refusal or deferral. |
6 | Function Buttons | Save: Saves the record and displays the refused or deferred vaccine in the Complete List grid. Cancel: Prompts the user with a warning box and closes the window without saving the record. |
