Add a Statement to the Patient Portal

If you want to have the parent open a Statement from the Portal, you will need to create the PDF of the statement in OP and send it to the portal on an individual patient basis.

In order to do so, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Account button  on the smart toolbar.  
  2. Locate and select the patient.
  3. Select the Statements tab.
  4. Select the appropriate radio button inside Transactions to include and Statement Scope field groups.
  5. Select the Save to portal checkbox.

  1. Click the Print/Transmit/Save PDF button and select Preview in the smart toolbar (if Preview is already selected, then leave the button alone).  This will ensure that the print preview screen appears before any print job is performed.
  2. Once the Save to portal checkbox is selected, it is time to print the patient statement. Select the Patient Statement button.

  1. The statement print preview screen appears, which shows you a preview of what the Parent will see on the Portal. Click the printer icon  in the upper-left corner of the print preview window.
  2. The Print window appears. You must do one of the following:
  • To print a hard copy of the statement, simply select your printer and click the OK button. A hard copy of the statement will be printed and the patient statement will be also added to the patient portal.
  • To create a digital version of the statement:
  1. Select the Print to File checkbox.
  2. Select the file type to be printed in the Type dropdown (PDF, Bitmap, JPEG, GIF, etc.)
  3. Select the location where the file is to be created.
  4. Click the OK button. A digital image of the statement will be created at the designated location.  Also, the patient statement will be added to the patient portal.

Viewing the Statement in the Portal (What the Parent will See)

  1. Log into the OP Patient portal.
  2. Select the My Account tab.

  1. Scroll down and locate the Billing Statement section of the My Account tab.

  1. Locate the Statement and click the View button.  The patient statement will appear.
