Important Content Update Message
We are currently updating the OP Help Center content for the release of OP 20. OP 20 (official version 20.0.x) is the certified, 2015 Edition, version of the Office Practicum software. This is displayed in your software (Help tab > About) and in the Help Center tab labeled Version 20.0. We appreciate your patience as we continue to update all of our content.

Understand Pharmacy Favorites Address Book Relationship

Version 14.19

Pharmacies are added to OP when a search of the SureScripts master list is performed and a pharmacy record is selected. When a record is selected it will be placed in the Address Book in the category of Pharmacy and can be found in the All previously used by any patient tab of the Choose a Pharmacy window. Click here for information on adding a pharmacy to the favorites list.

When a pharmacy is added to the OP software, a flag in the Address Book is set to indicate that it has been used when sending a prescription. In addition, OP will store the pharmacies NCPDP ID that will be used to confirm a valid pharmacy when sending prescriptions.

Pharmacies should never be deleted from the Address Book. If you attempt to delete a pharmacy, you are presented with a window prohibiting the action from occurring.

If a pharmacy is no longer in business, you may inactivate the pharmacy. Click here for information on how to change a pharmacy to inactive. This will maintain the integrity of historic prescriptions written using the pharmacy.

If pharmacy information has changed (such as location) you will inactivate the pharmacy record. Once the pharmacy is set to inactive it will be removed from:

  • Favorites List
  • All previously used by any patient lists

A new search from the SureScripts master will be necessary to populate the correct information in OP.
