Phase 1: OP Certification Release July 2019

Auditable Events

The certification required that we ensure a specific data set is audited when those records are created, viewed, edited or deleted. OP has enhanced our audit reports to ensure each necessary data element is captured within our audit logs. Furthermore, user permissions must be captured in the audit reports. This includes users who are assigned specific groups and the permissions granted through those groups.

Demographics

Demographic information about patients has been enhanced to capture the following:

  • Race and Ethnicity:  Both data points are enhanced to drill down on more specific details about an individual’s race or ethnicity through a hierarchy. However, all detailed selections still work their way up to the existing high-level classifications. For example, Cherokee is equal to American Indian while Irish is equivalent to White.
  • Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity:  Added as data points to capture for any patient on the Register. Note: There is a practice-level option where it is defaulted to withhold all sensitive demographic information from being sent to any third party (e.g., through an interface) but it will be visible to all OP users.

Immunization Management and Workflow

Immunization workflows have been improved by consolidating information and unifying workflows in order to view and enter data more efficiently. This includes refusals and documented immunity. These all drive the vaccine forecast. It is easier to override VacLogic+ by excluding items from the vaccine forecast.

In addition, we have enhanced our ability to implement bi-directional interfaces with state immunization registries more widely and at scale.

Implantable Devices

OP will now have a chart section where users can document that a patient has an implanted device such as ear tubes or a Baclofen pump. Visibility of this new chart section is configurable and requires the practice to obtain a user license from the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) maintained by the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
